PROVENANCE
Formerly in an English Collection

This lovely miniature bronze shows Krishna as a young child dancing with a ball of butter in his hand. The figure stands on an inverted lotus pedestal. He wears a simple waist ornament and is bereft of any other clothes. His hair is tied up in a bun atop the crown. The beauty of this piece lies in its movement and flair. His left hand is held loosely in a natural manner. The entire body has a slight right tilt and the same naturality continues at the back as well, making it a fine specimen to view from all angles.
